The Merrimac Soccer Club is a non-profit organization that provides inclusive soccer programs for children of all skill levels. Our goal is to teach and develop age appropriate soccer skills in a fun, competitive and supportive environment. As part of this, we strive to promote the self-confidence and social development of all of our players, and model good sportsmanship, fair play, and teamwork for players, coaches, and parents. We will provide and administer an organized structure with the best equipment and playing facilities possible within our means, encourage and support training for our volunteer coaches, and make decisions which are in the best interests of the players.
Merrimac Code of Conduct:
All parents, spectators who participate in Merrimac Soccer Club Youth League Programs:
Will refrain from coaching their child or other players during games and practices from the sidelines! Instead, will encourage and applaud all players effort and good play positively!
Will respect the officials and their authority during games. Will not question, discuss or confront officials at any time. (There is a ZERO tolerance when it comes to addressing officials. If a player, coach or spectator openly questions, discusses openly or confronts an official in anyway they will be removed from the field and could face permanent expulsion from soccer related events.)
Will remember that children participate to have fun and that the game is for youth, not adults.
Will not question, discuss with or confront coaches at the game field! Instead will communicate with coaches respectfully and at the appropriate time. Sleep on it before you press “send”!
Will demand that their child treat other players, coaches, officials, and spectators with respect regardless of race, creed, color, sex or ability.
Will promote the emotional and physical well being of the children ahead of any personal desire you may have for your own child to win.
Will not encourage any behaviors or practices that would endanger the health and well being of the children.
Will be a positive role model for their child and encourage sportsmanship by showing respect and courtesy, and by demonstrating positive support for all players' coaches, officials, and spectators at every game, practice or sporting event.
Will not engage in any kind of unsportsmanlike conduct with any official, coach, player, or parent such as booing and taunting; refusing to shake hands; or using profane language or gestures.
Will support the elements of the Merrimac Soccer Club Mission Statement!
Parents or guests in violation of the code of conduct may be dismissed, suspended, or permanently expelled from future athletic contest. Merrimac Soccer Club will take the appropriate step or steps listed below if administrative consequences are necessary. (One or more of the violations may be applied.)
